The Madison Township Police Department makes reasonable effort to reunite lost dogs with their owners. Citizens are most likely to be reunited with their dog when the animal is wearing a dog tag.

State Law requires all dogs 3 months of age and older to be registered and display a registration tag. By keeping up-to-date information on file with the Lake County Dog Warden's Office, it allows for us to contact you in the event your pet is found.

During business hours (Mon - Fri, 8am - 4:30pm and Sat 8am - Noon) citizens should contact the Lake County Dog Warden's Office directly at 440-350-2640 to report a found/stray dog. If after hours, you may contact the police department for additional assistance.

Officers will respond to aggressive/threatening dog complaints on an emergency basis.
